The seventh week

This week started out boring at work because I did nothing else but sit at my desk for the first two days straight. I was busy reading articles about tuberculosis and zebrafish, my project hovers around these two things with the addition of another part that I have to be very vague about. But yeah, it was kinda boring only reading articles. Then on wednesday we finally started with the project I am writing my thesis about, it is an infection experiment, we follow up the zebrafish that have this gene X ( the vague thing) after we infected them with tuberculosis. Thursday I started genotyping a new batch of zebrafish, this is what I’ve been doing for the past few weeks. On friday there was a follow up on the project, to check in on the zebrafish and I also got results back from the PCR I was running for the genotyping. For the rest nothing really happend at work.

Outside of work a bit more happend, as I was on one of my walks in the beginning of the week I made a discision. It was to sit down on a bench on this pontoon kinda thing. While I was sitting there watching the silent lake, I looked at the sky and saw it, the Northernlights, Aurora Borealis. I sat there watching for an hour, just enjoying the silence and the view. The attached picture was my view. I told you guys about the people I met at saint Patricks day, well they send me a message and last thursday I went to someones flat to help brew sima, that is a kind of mead. While I was there we had some local beers for me to try out, some were good some a little less. We discussed the taste, the mouthfeel, the different aspects of the beer, we talked about them all. The person that we visited is called Leevi, he also flavoured his own liquors, we tried two of those. One with plums, this one was very good, a little sweet but there was still the slight burn of the alcohol. The other one, is rum with blood orange and sechuan pepper, this one was a little less for me, there wasn’t really a taste of blood orange but the sechuan pepper came through very good. The slight herbal taste was not really my thing.

This weekend I decided to sleep in a bit because it had been a while since I slept long, this also meant that on saturday I was a lot later than normal but because of this there was space at this african restaurant. It’s called soul food and i gotta say the name was picked right. I ate a jerk chicken burger and it was just so delicious, they served the burger with fries and fried plantain, the sauces used were so good. I willl definitely go back there to try their other dishes. There also was this punk bar called the trasherie bar that I wanted to visit, so I did. The barman was nice, we talked a bit about my headphones, the HEAVYS, because he wanted to know if they are good before he bought them and they are good I told him. Then sunday, I got groceries and didn’t do much more because I didn’t feel like it.
